Another serious car collision in Gwinnett county left one toddler age daughter without a mother. Late last month there was a multi-vehicle wreck in Gwinnett county. It was allegedly caused by a driver who is accused of being intoxicated at the time of the crash. Pending charges are severe, as one woman succumbed to her injuries that were sustained in the accident.
According to reports, the man allegedly left his lane of traffic when he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle then skipped the medium, sideswiped an Audi before coming into contact with a Ford Focus. His vehicle caught fire during the crash, in which the woman in the other vehicle sustained serious burns on over 60% of her body. She was pronounced brain dead just a week or so after the crash. Charges are as follows for the man, as intoxication was alleged to have played a role in the accident.
The man is facing ten charges, including DUI, causing serious injury by vehicle, first-degree homicide and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana. He was booked into Gwinnett county jail and has been denied bond. Criminal records show that he had previously been bonded out of jail on marijuana and battery charges about a month before the alleged drunk driving accident. The woman wasn’t the only accident victim, just the only one to lose her life in the crash.
The accused likely never intended to hurt anyone when he got behind the wheel the day of the accident. While no malicious intent may have been intended, the consequences proved deadly. For this, the man will likely stand trial for the 10 charges accused. Every person is innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
