Domestic violence victims are meant to be protected by the law and so those who believe they are suffering from domestic violence should seek help. On the flip side, those accused of domestic violence are entitled to their day in court to share their side of the story. These type of charges can really impact other proceedings, like divorce or child custody proceedings if they should arise. Also, a conviction can impact a person’s personal and professional career in the years to come.
